The Port of Broome Wharf Extension of Life Project (WEOL) works are scheduled to commence on 5 November 2015. The successful contractor York Civil is already mobilising resources for Broome.
The wharf refurbishment works will proceed in four stages, with initial works to commence at the outer berths 5-8. The majority of the work will be replacing the reinforced concrete deck.
Kimberley Ports Authority (KPA) CEO, Kevin Schellack said, "The work stages have been scheduled to minimise impacts on port customers and shipping.
There will be some restrictions on berthing larger vessels greater than 135 metres from 5 November to 2 March 2016, so customers should contact our Harbour Master regarding berthing requirements during this period."
