The Kimberley Ports Authority’s (KPA) head office is located in Broome and is responsible for the Ports of Derby, Yampi Sound and Wyndham and directly manages the Port of Broome which is the principal deepwater port servicing the Kimberley region.
The Ports Legislation Amendment Bill 2019 was passed by Parliament further enabling the transfer of the Department of Transport's (DoT) responsibility for all commercial ports in the Kimberley to KPA.
